Getting that first job is a major milestone in any teen's life. Receiving that first pay check is an unbeaten feeling! But with many jobs needing you to be 16 or older your first job can seem far off.
HOWEVER, there are many ways you can make money as a teen outside of the traditional Saturday job.

1) Sell, Sell, Sell
The boom of online shopping in the past year has made it easier than every before to flip stuff online. There will always be someone out there who wants to buy what you're selling. Whether that be old clothes, books or games use online marketplaces such as Depop and eBay to make some cash back on the things you don't need or use anymore.
2) Offer your Services
There are many ways that you can monetise your free time in exchange for services. For example, babysitting, lawn mowing, washing cars or walking dogs. Ask around your neighbourhood to see if anyone if looking for some extra help. You'll be surprised at the different ways you can help your local community!
3) Start a YouTube Channel
With the rise of streaming platforms like Twitch, now is the time to start monetising that gaming hobby of yours! Or maybe your a fab baker and can create some baking vlogs. Pick a talent or hobby of yours to film about and start building a community. Once you hit that 1,000 subscribers mark you can start earning money from your channel!
4) Share your Knowledge
For the older teens reading, have you got a subject that you're especially good at? Maybe maths, or a language? Then have a go at tutoring younger students in that subject. There are many online tutoring platforms you can join, or ask around your area to see if younger students are needing some extra support.
5) Monetise your Skills
If you're talented in a particular area, like website design or photography, you could set up your own business and offer your services. Find a skill that's in high demand and find a way to sell it!
