How to Give Back this Christmas Season

At ImageNPay, charity is a big deal for us, and we're always looking for ways to make a positive impact. Whether by spreading awareness to help raise money or partnering with charities using our digital donation cards, we're always looking for ways to do our part.

And with everyone feeling a little more generous this time of year, we're here to share some easy and thoughtful ways you can give back to the charities and organisations that need your support this Christmas. 🫶

1) Volunteer Your Time

If you're thinking of giving the gift of time this Christmas, many options are available, e.g. by visiting a local food bank or volunteering from home.

Age UK has launched an initiative for volunteers to spend just half an hour each week talking to elderly and vulnerable people over the phone, and if you're interested in assisting those struggling with their mental health around this time of year, Shout* and Young Minds* are excellent charities that offer crisis text services to those in need.

2) Channel your Hobby

Volunteering can be a more rewarding experience if you use your passions and hobbies to help others.

For example, if you enjoy cooking, you can volunteer at soup kitchens to help feed vulnerable people during winter. If you like to get crafty, many charities need handmade items to sell in their shops, and if you're more tech-savvy, you can help Age UK find 'digital buddies' who can assist older people in improving their technology skills. Love gardening? Why not volunteer to help out at your local community's park or gardens to keep them looking pristine over the holidays - the options are endless! 🎄

3) Support Small and Local Businesses

Not only will you be supporting independent businesses by shopping with them, but you may also end up contributing to a charity!

Several small businesses have initiatives to support charities through their products and donate a percentage of their profits from each sale. Check out this article* for a list of places where you can shop for gifts that give back to a great cause.

4) Buy Charity Cards & Gifts

Many well-known charities offer Christmas cards and gifts that donate either a percentage or all of their profits to the causes they support. By shopping secondhand, you can also support your local charity shop and make a more sustainable* choice.

Charities like Oxfam* offer ethical products that empower those who produce them to earn a suitable living, while Samaritans*, Cancer Research UK*, and NSPCC* offer a range of beautiful Christmas cards where all profits go towards their remarkable work.

Every purchase you make can make a positive impact this holiday season, so why not choose to give back and support these causes in need whilst ticking off your Christmas shopping list? 🎁

5) Make a Digital Donation

By donating to a charity of your choice, you can make a significant impact on the lives of those who need it the most. Your contributions can help food banks, hospitals, and hospices provide essential services to those in need.

But if you're looking for another way to make a difference that's perhaps more eco-friendly* with no plastic involved, why not try using our in-app digital donation cards to donate online? With a variety of charity images available, including those supporting UK-based charities such as Samaritans* and Movember*, you can choose which cause to support and make a positive impact all year round. 💙
